Following the 1-0 semi-final win at Stockport County, the Hartlepool United defender revealed the nature of a fun bet he has with his teammate and Sunday’s match winner Rhys Oates
Oates 76th minute strike was his 17th of the campaign and third in Pools’ two play-off matches so far.

He then revealed that Oates had actually lost the initial bet which has since been amended for the play-offs.
“Oatesy has been tremendous this season and I’ve had a little bet with him that I’d give him my Apple watch if he scored 15 goals in the league,” the Hartlepool number 23 added.
"He didn’t get there (he scored 14) but I made another bet where if he scored three in the three play-off games then I’d give him it.”

“That last Bromley game didn’t count because it was two goals in one game so he’s got to score again next week to get it!" Sterry laughed.
“It’s just a bit of fun, a bit of banter and he’s been tremendous this season. As long as we win next week he can have it.”
