Monster Raving Loony Party 'want to move Parliament to Hartlepool'

Nick "The Incredible Flying Brick” Delves has said he will be entering the race to become the next Hartlepool MP on Thursday, May 6.
Mr Delves said he has fond memories of Hartlepool, having been involved in the party's MP bid in the area in the 2004 Parliamentary by-election, and hailed how friendly residents in the town are.

Hide AdHe said: "We're very much looking forward to it, I remember Hartlepool very fondly, I just think everybody is so friendly up there.
"I think we want to move the Houses of Parliament up to Hartlepool because that would make Parliament a more friendly place.
"We are the only sensible party in town."
Mr Delves, from Derbyshire, is treasurer for the party and has stood in 10 Parliamentary elections to date around the country.
He added: "I just love standing for the Loony Party.
"It's the best vote available by a distance, we're a vote for insanity, you know it makes sense, that's our motto."

Hide AdAlan “The Howling Laud” Hope, leader of The Official Monster Raving Loony Party, who previously stood in the 2004 Hartlepool Parliamentary by-election and finished 12th out of 14 candidates, said: "The Monster Raving Loony Party is the only party that's on everybody's side, no matter what political persuasion they may be.
"If you want more of the same, vote for more of the same, if you don't want more of the same, vote for us and see what happens."
Potential candidates have until Thursday, April 8, to submit their applications to join the race.
