Firefighters have been pictured tackling a blaze on the sand dunes near Hartlepool Golf Course.

Images sent to the Hartlepool Mail show firefighters from Cleveland Fire Brigade dealing with the incident near the golf course on Sunday, March 28.

It is understood the pictures were taken around 4.30pm on Sunday and the incident is currently ongoing at time of publishing.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time and and it is reported that firefighters remain at the scene.
