English Martyrs celebrates 99% A-level pass rate
The college is celebrating an overall pass rate of 99% in grades A*-E with some excellent individual results. And over 72% of students achieved grades A* to C.
A high proportion of students have secured their first choice destination whether it be university or vocational courses.

Hide AdKate Todd-Davis, 18, has won a scholarship with the top engineering company Rolls Royce after getting A in maths, and Bs in physics and chemistry.
Kate, who lives near Throston, said: "I'm really pleased as I needed three Bs because I have got an apprenticeship with Rolls Royce.
"I'm really happy."
Kate will study at Washington, Tyne and Wear, on release from Sheffield University and will also visit Rolls Royce factories in other parts of the country.
"I'm really looking forward to it," she added.
Straight A student Jack Dobson, 18, from Seaton Carew, was delighted with his A* in maths and As in computer science and physics.

Hide Ad"I'm ecstatic, I can't believe it," he said. "You work so hard on them and suddenly it's here."
Jack is off to Edinburgh to study computational physics. Explaining his career hopes he said: "If I keep my fingers crossed very tightly NASA.
"Anything involving technology or science, something where I can make deep impact research rather than just make another computer."
Budding legal eagle Elizabeth Shanks, 18, from Bishop Cuthbert, is off to Leeds to study law after getting As in law and geography and a B in English.

Hide AdShe said: "That's what I needed to get into my first place university.
"I had a few personal issues and thought about dropping out at one point but I stuck it out and I'm pleased that I did."
David Roberts, English Martyrs' acting head of sixth form last year, said: "We are really pleased with how our students have done.
"The staff and students have worked really hard this year. We are really pleased with the destinations of our students where they have secured that next step where they want to go."

Hide AdGeorgia Mason, 18, from the Ward Jackson Park area, is off to her first choice university of Northumbria to study architecture after securing A grades in geography and physics and a B in art and design.
Adam Wynn earned A* in maths, an A in computer science and a B for geography and has secured him a place at Durham University studying computer science.
