Man arrested as suspected cannabis farm ‘spanning four rooms’ found in Hartlepool

A man has been arrested after police found a suspected cannabis farm in Hartlepool on Thursday morning.

Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a drugs warrant in the town’s Kimberley Street just before 8am on Thursday (May 13).

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a drugs offence and remains in custody as inquiries continue.

Cleveland Police have said that officers also found a suspected cannabis farm, spanning four rooms, inside the property.

It said in a statement: “After gaining access to the property police found a suspected cannabis farm with around 100 mature plants, spanning four rooms.

“A utilities team ensured the electricity supply was safe in the property.

"Cannabis farms can put neighbouring properties at risk of fire due to unsafe adaptation of electricity supplies.
