Drones, CCTV and body cams - how police are tackling antisocial behaviour in and around Peterlee
Community officers in the town say they are continuing to crackdown on youths who are causing antisocial behaviour in the areas of Peterlee town centre and Shotton Colliery.
On Saturday, January 11, police were called in response to reports of anti-social behaviour in Peterlee, Shotton, Wingate, Station Town and the surrounding areas, which involved a number of young people.

Hide AdThe following day, PCSOs from Peterlee Neighbourhood Police Team were called out to Shotton Colliery following reports of anti-social use of an off-road bike.
Since then, officers have been using different methods in an attempt to avoid such behaviour continuing.
A spokesperson for Peterlee Police said: “We will be using a variety of methods to identify those responsible for these incidents including drone deployment, CCTV and body cam.
“We ask all parents and children to be aware that we will operate a zero-tolerance approach to any incidents in these areas.”

Hide AdOfficers will continue to contact parents of those responsible and will take direct action against individuals which could include arrest, community orders or other methods that they believe are necessary case by case.
