The first two years of the four-year programme are spent at Bridgwater College, which is home to the National College for Nuclear in the south.
At the college, Hartlepool’s new recruits will join apprentices from other EDF Energy power stations around the country.
The apprentices will learn basic engineering skills in their first year, before specialising in their chosen trade in the second year.

The training is held just a few miles from the new build site at Hinkley Point C and that means the apprentices will be able to see the UK’s newest nuclear station being constructed.
But it also means they will get a chance to visit both Hinkley Point A and B sites as part of the training programme.
